Nestled in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica is a small community known as Moore Town. It is also known as Nanny Maroon Town as it became home to Queen Nanny and her ancestors of the Maroons!

Nanny Maroon Town or Moore Town is not so unlike its African sister cities as many of the residents preserved the roots and culture they have depended on for their physical, emotional and mental health for centuries and still depend on today.

Nanny of the Maroons is hailed as the true Queen of Jamaica. From the Ivory Coast in Africa, Nanny and her brothers found themselves in Jamaica during the 1800’s during a period of slavery and wars.  During this time Nanny cunningly outwitted the British soldiers rescued and freed slaves and refused to sign any agreement to return run away slaves.
Her disappearance is still a puzzle even to the most learned scholars.

Queen Nanny is featured on Jamaica’s $500 bill and is the only woman declared one of Jamaica’s National Heroes.

Nanny  Maroon Hills Productions proudly offers Herbal Roots Tonic and Bitters made from the cleanest and freshest of Jamaica’s healing herbs and natural pure, spring water. It is a well established fact that 26 plant species of this world are only found in Jamaica!!

In 1989, in order to preserve the Maroon heritage brought from Africa to Jamaica through the knowledge of herbal medicinal plants and their healing properties, Elleston Wright began brewing a blend of local roots indigenous and exclusive to the  mountains in Moore Town, Jamaica.
